International Mokuhanga Conference (IMC ) Mission
The mission of the International Mokuhanga Conference is to foster the expertise of water-based woodblock printmaking (mokuhanga) by professionals and practitioners by:
- improving the development of mokuhanga expression, tools and culture
- offering opportunities to present mokuhanga research and share information
- promoting innovation and the dissemination of information about mokuhanga
International Mokuhanga Association (IMA)
In 2017, at the culmination of the third International Mokuhanga Conference, it was decided to rename the International Mokuhanga Conference Association, the International Mokuhanga Association (IMA) in response to its growing involvement in the international promotion of mokuhanga, not just through the triennial conference itself. The formation of IMA and IMA Japan led to the creation of a new IMA Mission Statement.
International Mokuhanga Association (IMA) Mission
The mission of the International Mokuhanga Association (IMA) is to foster the expertise of water-based woodblock printmaking (hereinafter referred to as mokuhanga) by continuing to: improve the development of mokuhanga expression, tools and culture; offer opportunities to present research and share information about mokuhanga; and promote innovation and the dissemination of information about mokuhanga.
Included in this mission the aims are to:
- cultivate global mokuhanga connections, friendships and networks, and create opportunities for collaboration and open exchange through conferences (IMC) and meetings
- be inclusive of and inspire all mokuhanga artists/craftspeople/makers at all levels
- develop the aesthetic language of mokuhanga and promote dialogue therein
- encourage innovations across all levels of mokuhanga
- preserve mokuhanga skills, craftsmanship, traditions and materials
- foster work sites that are receptive to mokuhanga
- value the experience of all mokuhanga makers, particularly when creating by hand
- archive mokuhanga resources for the next generation
国際木版画会議 (IMC) の使命
国際木版画会議の使命は、専門家や木版画制作者による水性木版画 (木版画) の専門知識を以下の方法で育成することです。
- 木版画の表現、ツール、文化の発展
- 木版画に関する研究発表と情報共有の機会の提供
- イノベーションの促進と木版画に関する情報の普及
国際木版画協会 (IMA)
2017 年、第 3 回国際木版画会議の集大成として、3 年に一度の会議だけでなく、木版画の国際的な推進への関与が増大するのに対応して、国際木版画会議協会の名称を国際木版画協会 (IMA) に変更することが決定されました。IMA と IMA 日本委員会の設立により、新しい IMA ミッション・ステートメントが作成されました。
国際木版画協会 (IMA) の使命
国際木版画協会 (IMA) の使命は、次のことを継続的に行うことにより、水性木版画 (以下、「木版画」) 制作の専門知識を育成することです。
- 木版画の表現、ツール、文化の発展
- 木版画に関する研究発表と情報共有の機会の提供
- イノベーションの促進と木版画に関する情報の普及
このミッションには次のような目的が含まれています。
- 世界的な木版画家のつながり、友情、ネットワークを育み、国際会議（IMC）やミーティングを通じてコラボレーションやオープンな交流の機会を創出する。
- あらゆるレベルの木版画家・職人・メーカーを包括し、インスピレーションを与える。
- 木版画の美的言語を発展させ、それによる対話を促進する。
- 木版画のあらゆるレベルにわたる革新を奨励する。
- 木版画の技術、職人技、伝統、素材を保存する。
- 木版画を受け入れる仕事場を育成する。
- すべての木版画制作者の経験、特に手作業で制作する場合の経験を大切にする。
- 木版画のリソースを次世代のためにアーカイブする。
